About Park Road

In 1994 a small group in Cobh came together to investigate the possibility of providing attractive, comfortable housing for elderly people and a Centre where treatment and recreation would be made available in a modern well-equipped and welcoming environment. The group was incorporated in 1998 as Cobh Community Care and accorded charitable status.

Park Road Centre was built by Cobh Community Care and the Day Centre is staffed and managed by HSE South. We are grateful to them for their ongoing support and expertise.

Fund Raising is a big part of life in Park Road Centre. All our “big occasions” require extra funds. Any repairs, maintenance, wages or future development is financed by Cobh Community Care, through donations and other fund raising efforts. For this we say THANK YOU to the people of Cobh and beyond. We have had enormous co-operation and support over the years.

We like to offer hospitality and friendship to all who visit us in Park Road. After the Chrism Mass on Wednesday of Holy Week, our Staff return to the Centre at about 9 p.m. to offer tea, cakes and sandwiches to Bishops, Priests, and people of the Diocese. This is just a sample of the generosity of our much esteemed Staff.
